Commemorative Ale Launch

Red Mist Ale launches this week

This year we celebrate our 10th anniversary as a group and to celebrate, have teamed up with Andwell Brewery in Hook to develop a commemorative anniversary ale.

As part of Red Mist Leisure we have organised a number of initiatives to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and this idea was proposed by Paul Griffiths, pub manager of The Exchequer, himself a former brewer, as a great way to mark 10 years in the trade.

Paul’s idea was made a reality with the assistance of Adam Komrower, the owner of Andwell’s Brewery and working together, the pair developed a unique recipe for the beer, aptly named Red Mist,  with guidance from head brewer Alex Bell. We were determined to create a colourful and tasty ale using only English hops and barley which is uncommon in most beers today.

Launching at The Exchequer, Crookham Village, 12th March, Red Mist is ruby in colour with a well rounded fresh, sweet aroma and a complexity that belies its 4.1% abv. The bitterness gives way to the lusciousness of dark malts whilst fuggles hops enhance the mid palate with an earthy, subtle eucalyptus note. Drinkers are left with a floral sweetness and spicy tone created with the final addition of 2 more English hops , leaving the palate wanting more.

One of our co-founders, Mark Robson comments “we are delighted to have worked together with Adam and the team at Andwells to produce this fantastic beer using only English ingredients. The end product has exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to see our customers enjoy it when it goes on sales at all of our pubs next week .“
