The Piggles Trust are an incredible charity who we are proud to have supported here at The Exchequer since the beginning of 2018.
This small charity was set up in 2017 and are dedicated to providing pre-school education to poorly children and their siblings, during their time in hospital, as it is their belief that ‘no child should be left behind‘.

During 2018, over 40 children between the ages of 2-5 received early-years education via Piggles Trust whilst in hospital. Some of these children were the siblings of inpatients who were missing their normal nursery education so that their families could be together through what were very trialling times.
A brand new trolley of age specific resources was purchased to help enable the teachers to provide appropriate learning activities for the children whilst at their bedside.
Piggles Trust have managed to secure charity places for both the London Marathon and also the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Cycle Race. For more information please see their Facebook page www.facebook.com/pigglestrust.
After a year of operating at Southampton General Hospital, Piggles Trust is now in a position to be able to recruit a Nursery Practitioner who will be permanently based on the children’s wards. This is an exciting new development and one that will cement their relationship with the hospital and will give them the ability to expand the provision further.

With your help, we raised over £9,700 for Piggles Trust in 2018 by donating 20p of every pint sold of Red Mist Ale, 50p from the sale of every kids meals at all of Red Mist’s Hampshire pubs and as one of 3 charities supported by Red Mist’s charity challenge in 2018.
